The Little Flubber

Author's Note: Our writing circle topic today was Flubber. This was even more random then before... Enjoy my equally random and cute story!

A little colorful fluff ball was sitting on the counter, licking the frosting off of oreos. For every one he licked, he took another one out of the package. When the whole package was gone, he screamed and cried until his mother rushed over to see what was the matter. She sighed, seeing that her son only wanted more oreos.

“We’ll go buy more tomorrow- you’ve had too many today,” she said gently.

“Want more now.”

“Later.”

“Now! Want more now.”

“Honey-”

“Want more now! Oreo me want now! Now! Now! Now! No later! Now!” The little flubber started shriveling on the floor.

“You could have lunch, now.”

“What for lunch?”

“Well, do you want more Oreos?”

“I dunno. Maybe. Oh, how ‘bout an apple with chocolate chips and peanut butter with a side of fluffy flabbers?”

“Okay...” The mother was shocked at how her “diversion” worked. Now she was going off to the store to buy more fluffy flabbers.

French Toast

Author's Note: My group chose to write about french toast today. It was kind of random. But, I like random things.

Mr. Sun greeted me, heating up the blankets on my bed. I finally decided to sit up and stretch. It felt good to reach toward the ceiling. Then I jerked, smelling something delicious. But I then realized it was only in my head. My dad never cooks. He always buys packaged snacks from the store or takes us to a restaurant. (I mean us by my brother Tim and me. My name’s Tilly by the way. Yeah... I noticed that, too. Our names both start with the letter T.)

So I tromped down the stairs and decided to make myself some french toast. Even though I had no experience with cooking other than maybe cereal or Mac & Cheese. Luckily, I have been taking FCE class and am now able to make french toast. The first one I made started smoking and burning. Quickly, I took it off the stove. At least I was smart enough not to know to dump water over the pan- it would only make it worse.

By the fourth batch, I was kind of tired, but it finally turned out right. I grabbed the syrup and dumped it all over the french toast. The sticky syrup slid down my throat. It was so delicious that I kept the other pieces for my dad. Boy, was he surprised!

Dream a Dream Animal

Author's Note: Our topic for Writing Circles was Dream Animal. I just wanted to write a simple poem to express what animals I would LOVE to have.

If I were to dream a dream
Animal
That nobody has
For a pet
It would be a seal
Seals are soft
When they are babies
They are cute
And they are fluffier
Than a cloud
I want one
That would never get bigger
But if I were to dream
A dream animal
That is more realistic
I would have a dog
A Papillon to be exact
For I can never get one
Unless I dream

Ninja Power

Author's Note: Our writing group decided to write a piece with the narrator being a high heel. I wrote it as a news channel showing what happened the night before in a conference hall. Enjoy!

Hello, fellow human or inanimate object. I have come to you today to influence you to become a ninja. For starters, I will tell you about my past as a ninja. As of three months ago, I sadly retired. Now that I look back, it was the best six years of my life. I got to stab the ground saying, Hi-ya! This is because I am a high heel. The only downside I can think of is that humans control me when I am being a ninja to the floor. Other than that, ninja stuff is awesome! You get to... um... sorry, I’m blanking. But it is awesome. Oh, and one last thing- BECOME A NINJA!

Stuff About Myself- Mainly Hamsters

Author's Note: Our writing circle group chose to write about ourselves. This is because we didn't know much about each other. Hamsters are basically the most awesome thing in the world, so I turned that into a piece having to do with hamsters AND myself. In this story, I also colored the words to show different meanings.

For starters, I love hamsters. If you didn’t know that by now, get it in your head because I LOVE HAMSTERS. Here’s just a little back story on that... in the summer of 4th grade to 5th grade, almost every weekend I would beg and beg my parents for a fuzzy pet, not a fish or frog. Sometimes I would even cry about that. I just love animals so much and my mom practically hates them. What didn’t help was that my brother and my dad are allergic to cats and dogs. Finally, my mom and I went to the library to pick out multiple books. 1 on chinchillas, 2 on bunnies, and 3 on hamsters. At that point, we didn’t know we were going to get a hamster, but we did. We also weren’t sure if the hamster would be at our house.

On Sunday, November 1st, I went with my dad to pick out a hamster. The first one the clerk pulled out was all white. She placed the girl hamster  on the platform. Afraid just a little, I asked, “Will it bite me?”

The clerk answered, “Probably not.” I pet her anyways. The only thing I could think of that was softer than her fur was the chinchilla I saw in 3rd grade when we went on a “Field Trip” to a pet shop.

“I want her, Dad!” I squealed in delight. “Her name is Cupcake!”

Now I’m not going to explain how she relieved herself in the box the clerk gave us, or how the cage was difficult to put together, or even that Cupcake almost escaped from the ball on her first day, or that she only bit me once in her whole life. I’m not so sad anymore that she died. Everything has to die one day. I still remember how wonderful she was. But the most frightening thing that I know of is that I can barely remember what it felt to hold her, or what she did when she was younger. Luckily, I have a new hamster now, Marshmallow. (Which is part of the reason why I forgot.) Everyone in my family was attached to Cupcake. They aren’t really liking Marshmallow that much. I think he’s the sweetest thing. (Besides Cupcake of course. She was so nice...)

Every time I clean his cage out, I rub his squishy little body against my cheek. I love him very much.

Even though I love hamsters, that doesn’t mean I don’t have any dream pets. Right now, I desperately want a dog. Specifically a Papillon.  Getting one isn’t a problem, because my grandma said she would buy me one. Because of the fact Papillons are hypoallergenic, my brother would be fine to live with one. My mom just thinks they belong outside. My grandma would also buy one for their house- except they have a German Shepherd. She says Ana will eat it. I wouldn’t be surprised if that really happened.

But at least I have an awesome hamster! I will now put a smiley face to show my enthusiasm. :D
