Metaphors

Personification shows human qualities in inanimate objects.

Hyperbole
Exaggerates for effect.

One million pigeons flew around me, trying to all get a part of my sandwich.

Using words that sound alike but have a different meaning.

Irony
A word intended to convey a meaning just the opposite of its ordinary or literal meaning.
